Sept. 29 - Oct. 1 Brighton, Ontario - Apple Fest!!!!!!!!

When we pulled into Brighton, it seemed like all of southern Ontario had gathered here for the Annual Apple Festival. The main street was packed with visitors and vendors. Live music was playing at various locations, the weather was fabulous and the overall vibe just great!

We immediately started looking for a place to set up our photo cards. A kind lady introduced us to an Apple Fest staff who asked us to follow her and introduced us to the Mayor of Brighton. Wow! He gave us a most warm welcome, arranged a little lunch for us, gave us two Apple Fest t-shirts and two tickets to the big festival dinner that evening!
We were very amazed by the kindness of  the people in this town but as we have heard so many other folks say that we are living their dream. This seems to generate an instant connection with so many people and leads to great conversations. We have met so many people who have thought of going on an adventure like ours but never did or could. James and I consider ourselves to be exceptionally fortunate for this opportunity to experience so many parts of this world in such a fun, unconventional manner. As someone the other day said to us: "a loaded bike is a passport to a different depth of society".

A comical shot. Priceless!

Our stand. Live music all day! (but the last band forced us to leave with their insanely high volume...and not so good music )

Parade with apple tower

Tractor equipped with toilette

Bathtub on wheels...hahahaha. These Brightoners are very creative!

Right as we were packing up our photo cards, a nice lady approached us, intrigued by our loaded bikes. She wanted to hear all about our adventures so she ended up inviting us to come spend the night at her place. Next day's weather forecast was not cycling friendly so Dawne kindly let us stay a second night. We had a movie night and an overall great time with Dawne!

THANK YOU FOR THE RELAXING BREAK, THE GREAT FOOD AND THE STORIES!!! GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PLANS FOR INDIA!!!
