Jan. 2- Riding Through Southern California

Location: Claremont, California, USA

Today's destination was Claremont, about 40 miles east of LA but still part of LA's urban sprawl. Since finding a camping spot in this busy area would be difficult we had arranged accommodation with Warmshowers hosts and avid cyclists Carole and Win. Before we left LA, Carole had sent us a some route suggestions on how to best ride out of LA safely along quieter more scenic roads. We will post the details on that as soon as possible since some of you may find it useful.

It was a surprisingly calm ride through Los Angeles and to Claremont, thanks to Carole's tips. We enjoyed every minute of the ride and continued commenting on how clean and beautiful everything was her. The blooming trees and bushes, the blue sky, the mild air. Just lovely and so invigorating.

Our hosts Carole and Win kindly invited us for dinner and offered us their guest room for the night. They were very helpful in giving us route suggestions which really made our riding a lot easier and more enjoyable in the next few days.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY AND THE ROUTE TIPS! IT WAS GREAT TO MEET YOU AND WE WISH YOU MANY MORE CYCLING ADVENTURES AND LOTS OF TAILWIND!!!
