Jan. 4- Wind Tunnel

Location: White Water, California, USA

Today's ride was along fairly quiet, back roads following the general direction of the I-10 freeway. I do not know why I took no photos today, some stretches were actually quite scenic, so my apologies for the lack of visuals on this post.

East from Beaumont, the valley started to get narrower and a head wind picked up. Soon, numerous wind turbines marked the area as a wind tunnel, not to our favour unfortunately. We made it as far as White Water, a small community in a rocky desert landscape. There were no trees or any shelter from the wind so we asked at a house if we could camp in their front yard, which was somewhat sheltered by bushes. Sharon said that was no problem and even brought us some water and snacks. Her small dog Molly was so amusing because she started jumping around like a bouncy ball expressing her excitement over the visitors. So cute.

THANK YOU SO MUCH SHARON FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY! WE REALLY APPRECIATED THE SHELTERED CAMPING SPOT ON THIS WINDY DAY/NIGHT! BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
