Jan 17 Burger feast

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

We had just left Florence and were pedaling towards Phoenix when a truck passed us with two park rangers and one yelled something out of the window that sounded like “hungry?” They stopped further up and Otis asked if he could buy us a burger? He just bought himself a touring bike and has big dreams of cycle touring once his work schedule will permit it. Of course we are always hungry so we gladly accepted this generous offer. We found a shaded spot to sit while he zoomed off to the little town nearby and returned a few minutes later with two juicy burgers and some fries. Wow!!! What a treat that was!!
Thanks so much Otis J It was really great to meet you and it would be our pleasure to have you over for a meal one day when you come cycling through our town. Happy tailwinds to you.

In Phoenix we were awaited by Graem, a Warmshowers host originally from Australia with a great sense of humour. Upon our arrival the first thing we were served was beer and ice cream! To my delight there were numerous citrus trees in Graem’s back yard, oranges and grapefruit. O so good!
We spent a lovely afternoon and evening chatting about our various trips, cooking a nice dinner and plotting new adventures.
THANK YOU GRAEME FOR THE LOVELY EVENING! WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR CONVERSATIONS AND YOUR HOSPITALITY. TAILWINDS TO YOU! LET US KNOW WHEN YOU HEAD TO FRANCE. WE MAY BE THERE J
