July 1- 2 South of Salt Lake City, Over Soldier Summit, Towards Price

On or ascent to Soldier Summit we ran into a fellow from Colorado who just came back from a motorcycle (or motortrycle?) trip to Alaska. He was super nice and offered us some cool drinks from the back of his  "bumble bee" trailer. Just what we needed. Thanks so much!
We decided to not push ourselves too hard today but instead camp in this attractive side canyon just off the highway.
 View from our tent site.
A bizzarre rock. If you look close you can spot a yellow blooming cactus on the foot of the rock on the right.
The cactus close up.
Dinner time and then sleepy time. We decide to not put the fly on the tent tonight because the weather looked dry and you get a better view of the stars. I woke up at some point in the night and the full moon brightly lit up the entire canyon. It was an amazing, almost spooky sight.
