June 18-20  Our Private All-Inclusive Beachfront Resort Experience!!!!!

It was in the morning of June 18th when James and I were riding along Montana HWY 35 in the Flat Head Lake area (I am pretty sure it was hwy 35, going by memory here).  The weather was a bit moody and when it started raining again we stopped by a well drilling shop to take cover. The rain did not last long and when we got back on the road, the guy who had just visited the owner of the shop stopped us beside the highway and asked us if we wanted to spend the day at his lake house. He was just headed there to do some work on it. Ken even offered to put our bikes in the back of his truck and drive us the 10 miles. That way we could wait out the rain in a dry, comfortable place and even take a hot shower. James and I were baffled by such a generous offer and we gladly accepted. We ended up staying at the beach house for two nights and got spoiled like never before.

Basically the pictures say it all! It was amazing!

Upon arrival, we were offered beer and once the fire was nice an hot it was time for some Elk sausages!!!! The meat was from Elk which Ken had hunted himself. SOOOO DELICIOUS! Elk stake was to follow for dinner!
Little Jack was on a constant mission of keeping us and the surroundings under close watch. Such a cutie!

Shortly before Ken left to go back to his home he showed us how to work the Margarita machine party blender. It is a two stroke engine with motorcycle handles and a blender on top. This set up makes for a real noisy and super fun Margarita production process.
CHEERS EVERYBODY!!!!
We slowly sipped those Margaritas while sitting on the deck overlooking the beach as the sun was going down. It was one of those PERFECTLY PERFECT moments!
Ken even outfitted us with a heap of fishing supplies so we could try our luck off the dock or from the canoe. No luck unfortunately but it was still fun.

This is the view from the dock back towards the cabin. The cabin is on the left and the smaller building on the right contains a wonderful sauna which we had full access to. It was amazing especially because the proximity to the cold lake made for a nice cool off after the sweat session.
This is the view south from the cabin (my back to the cabin). We had lots of fun playing horse shoes and the beany bag game (sorry, cannot remember the correct name).
Sauna time!!!
Inside the cabin with the kitchen on the left and the loft with bunk beds (so fun) top left.

Armed with a fishing rod, we tried our luck from the pedal boat.
Our fishing journey took us all the way across the little bay where we docked for a little while and skipped rocks.
Aren't these beautiful rocks?! Almost too pretty to skip.

Hat on, beer in hand, sun out, beach nearby....Life is Good!!!

Canoes just hold a never ceasing attraction so James and I could not resist taking it out for a quick paddle accompanied by hot chocolate and delicious home made cookies. Thanks to Ken's wife from baking them for us.

Evening scene from the cabin deck. Beautiful!

I took this picture on the last evening as I was enjoying a delicious banana and peanut butter sandwich by the fire.

Ken, thank you so very much for your kind and trusting hospitality. The time at your cabin was such a treat and a real honor. We are looking forward to seeing you again on our way back.
