Here is another recommendation for you travelling folk. If you ever come thru Moab, Utah, take hwy 128 to get to I-70. It is a stunning drive along the Colorado River which winds itself thru a narrow canyon of red rock.
Further north the valley widens and takes on a lookd that mimics Monument valley.
As you get closer to I-70, the landscape suddenly changes within a few miles. You climb out of the canyon and your are left with a flat, barren landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see.
Time to fuel up. Clif Bars for us and abandoned Gas Station fuel for the bikes. They seemed to like it very much. They had a much airier roll to them afterwards.
