It was a gorgeous morning after a good night's sleep in the apricot orchard. The landscape we rode through consisted mostly of hilly grain fields. We wanted to get to Konya the following day so we chose the shorter but steeper route through Aksehir. They were widening that route so about 6 km of the up hill portion was gravel. It was a very tiring, bumpy and dusty ride. Luckily we were well above 1000m midday so although the sun was strong, the air temperature was comfortable.
