June 27- Didim

Got up super early and checked out the Miletos theatre before heading off. It felt so awesome  walking through the same massive hallways where Roman theatre goers used to walk and then stepping through one of the little doors into the seating area. The big entrance gates and stairs to the second level were also impressive and nicely preserved. On our exploration we came across a Shepherd herding goats on the ruin walls.

It was a sweaty ride to Didim but it was well worth it. I got the medusa head!!!! And the Apollo  temple offered a great selection of gorgeous carvings to photograph.

Then we wanted to ride further along the coast to view more historic sites in Euromos but it was so hot already that we spontaneously decided to head back to Söke and shelter in the McDonalds again. From Söke we would then start our inland portion of the trip. This means dryer air and slightly cooler temperatures with higher elevation. Cannot wait.

At the McDonalds Yeldiz seemed happy to see us again. We did not want to impose so we rightfully got permission to hang out there for a while with the purchase of a coffee. A bit later, Yeliz and one of her coworkers offered us to drink another cup with them. So nice!

TAKE CARE YELIZ AND THANKS AGAIN.

Once it cooled off  a bit we rode out of town towards Aydin. The kind owner of the ParkOliva events venue let us camp on the grass in the big garden behind the restaurant.

THANK YOU PARKOLIVA FOR THE SAFE CAMPING SPOT!
