Next morning we slept in and then had a nice Turkish breakfast with Güley followed by tea and coffee in the garden with the neighbour ladies. The coffee was served in the cutest, ornately decorated, three-legged coffee cups. Love Turkish coffee!
In one of the pictures you can see a small metal contraption with a chimney. That's a tea stove. You make a small fire in the bottom which heats the water in the top of the barrell. Once the water is hot, you make a concentrated tea in a small kettle that you put on top of the stove to keep warm. The rest of the hot water is to dilute the tea to taste later on. Brilliant, isn't it? I would love to send one of these to you Natalie and Madeleine for your birthdays. You would love it.
After the coffee we all felt like an apricot snack. Güley did not hesitate to climb up the tree an give those branches a good shake until it rained juicy apricots.
There had been a wedding in their garden the week before and Güley insisted on us getting our photo taken with the bride doll. Funny.
